The first expansion phase was in 1989/1990 by adding an additional storage of 618,000 cbm through the construction of 3 floating roof storage tanks in Sidi Kerir of capacity 103,000 cbm each and 3 storage tanks of the same type and capacity in Ain Sukhna.
The second expansion phase was in 1997 by adding a total capacity of 702,000 cbm through the construction of 6 floating roof storage tanks in Sidi Kerir of capacity 117,000 cbm each and a 3 MW boosting pumping station.
The third expansion phase was in 2005 which introduced an additional storage of 351,000 cbm through the construction of 3 floating roof storage tanks in Sidi Kerir of capacity 117,000 cbm each.
In 2008 the fourth expansion phase was commissioned by building 5 floating roof storage tanks in Sidi Kerir each of capacity 117,000 cbm to add a total storage capacity of 585,000 cbm.
In 2010 the fifth expansion phase was commissioned in both terminals (Ain Sukhna and Sidi Kerir) through the construction of one floating roof storage tank in Sidi Kerir terminal and 3 in Ain Sukhna terminal each of storage capacity of 117,000 cbm which added a total storage of 468,000 cbm to the system.
During 2013 phase 6 was introduced to serve the crude oil storage market by an additional 1,050,000 cbm through the construction of 6 floating roof storage tanks each of capacity 175,000 cbm and a 4.35 MW boosting pumping station.
