Ain Sukhna Product Hub "ASPH" Jetty contract

In light of SUMED's mission to present world-class services and in response to growing regional demand for refined petroleum products (with a special focus on the booming Egyptian market),SUMED signed EPC contract with the awarded contractor "BESIX-ORASCOM" to begin construction of Ain Sukhna products Hub "ASPH" jetty and its marine facilities on 1st of June 2016 in Cairo.

The first berth is planned for completion by 2nd Q 2017  at water depth of 15 meters which will allow the Egyptian Gas holding company "EGAS" to berth one FSRU on a permanent basis to be used for LNG imports intended to feed an under-construction power plant providing electricity to Egypt new Capital.

The second berth (multi-product) at water depth 19 meters will be capable of accommodating petroleum products tankers of up to 160,000 DWT as well as LPG carriers of up to 82,000 m3.

The awarding of the EPC contract for onshore facilities including storage tanks for Fuel Oil, Gasoil and LPG is ongoing, construction completion is scheduled Q1 2019.

The initial project platform is scalable aiming at join world’s leading independent storage operators for oils, chemicals, gases. Moreover, bunkering service will be added in phase 2 with a new dedicated berth at water depth of 12 meters to accommodate two barges from 500 DWT to 15,000 DWT.
